This is a bit of a detour from our Language Development blog series, but
this is a wonderful video that focuses on play and addresses leaning and language

It is a bit long–38 minutes, but well worth watching. The speaker is:
Roberta Michnick Golinkoff is the H. Rodney Sharp Professor and Founder and Director of the UD Infant Language Project at the University of Delaware. She is also a member of the Department of Psychology and Linguistics. Her research is focused on understanding how children learn language. She is the recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship and a James McKeen Cattell Sabbatical award.
